Quality Work
V.M. Machine & Grinding Co. has and will always strive for excellence and offer our customers a commitment to quality.
Cleaned and inspected!
We wipe and clean each peace and check for nicks and material build up on the side of the knife before we grind. This ensures a zero side runout and keeps the knives straight edged for reduced knife deflection.
Grinding
We use open soft grinding wheels to cold grind and to ensure a longer lasting edge and a non-chutter finish
Sharp and Ready to Ship
Sharp and Ready to Ship
After grinding, each piece Is wiped clean with a lint free rag of thin non corrosive oil that reduces dirt buildup. We then tightly secure the tooling and cover from the elements for shipment to your location!
Other Services
CTL grinding
Cut to Length. We rotary grind flat knives one piece at a time. We clean, inspect, and grind out all the nicks on both sides of the knife. We custom grind each piece to reduce excessive grinding for one bad piece like a Blanchard grinding service does. It takes longer than a Blanchard knife grinding but you save the knife for more cuts. We cool grind them and they last longer.
Separator Disks
We recondition separator disks! We remove the pesky burs and scratches that plague the disk‘s performance and taper edge to help accept the slit material as the machine processes a coil. Send a few with your knives and rubber and see what we can do!
Overarm spacers
We recondition plastic overarm spaces. We make them look and act like new!
Steel Rolls
We recondition material rolls for our customers. We take the material grooves and lines out of the rollers so the material stays centered and flush to the roll.
Rubber Slitter Spacers
Rubber spacers could be the most important piece of the slitting process. We understand this and take the appropriate measures to return the spacers concentric and proper o.d. for our customers for Male or female spacers. We grind to your specific size to keep the knives and rubber to the proper tolerances and clearances for the material you run. We recommend grinding the rubber each time the knives are ground to reduce rubber fatigue and maintain quality tolerances for production. We do multiple Setups for your rubber if the id is loose to ensure concentric results.
Micarta spacers
We recondition the spacers to remove blemishes and resize sets to be uniform sizes. We can re-grove them as well for the banding strips.
